Man, I just get a kick out of that scene in Hamlet (1948) when Oliver goes up to her and asks if he can "lie in her lap". Or in Spartacus when Douglas tells her that he's "never had a woman". Naughty stuff.
She was amazing. That memorable dance in Black Narcissus, and the ferocity of her performance in Angel Face. She crafted a lot of iconic moments, the kind you never forget.
she very convincingly looked like an Eastern woman in that.
Ha! Not really. The fact that she was so amazing even through the awful brownface makeup is a real testament to her talent, though. What a great movie.

ANGEL FACE...that last look on her face before she hits reverse is burned into my memory. Just brilliant.
Holy hell. I forgot she was in Black Narcissus... she very convincingly looked like an Eastern woman in that.
I haven't seen BLACK NARCISSUS in forever. I need to rent or buy that soon.
